Welcome to the Heroes Assemble RPG on Darkmyst. Some things you may wish to know about the RPG are posted here and in this directory to assist you with acclimating to the environment and game rules.
This game is ran off the old TSR Marvel Superheroes RPG dice system known commonly as FASERIP. It is one of the easiest and best dice systems ever created, particularly for a campaign based on super-powered characters, whether in comics or movies or books. This is not a simulated game except occasionally at the behest of the GM. There are characters from Marvel, DC and other sources, including some action or thriller movies. These are not owned by this group by any means, but are given game stats for the purpose of broadening role-play and to keep things interesting. The world is rather immense and some epic sagas transpire in space as well, or occasionally in other dimensions.
Some sources for stats for characters:
* Marvel Superheroes RPG by TSR. I copied some stats from the books I personally own. Some stats I also created based on information from websites or comics etc. Anything I created based on movie/tv/comics characters etc, you are welcome to use.
* Ben Reily's Marvel page - This has a lot of Marvel and DC characters. This is on angelfire so it has a lot of annoying ads but it is full of information.
* Classic Marvel Forever - Another great site with some rules and character stats.
Combat and character creation are modified slightly for smoothness, but the rules generally come from the Marvel Superheroes RPG. Everything is explained on these forums and also in the channel. All role-playing takes place in the channels on IRC. The Forums are a place with rules, character sheets, information and current events.
